I started writing at school with a pal called Martin Summat-or other... It was a long time ago for goodness’ sake!

So, we wrote these little one act plays set in chip shops and coal mines and all sorts of easy to stage places... We performed them in front of our English class (anything to get out of the drudgery of learning English Grammar.. Things like "Subjects" and "Predicates", "Verbs", "Adjectives", "Nouns" and zzzzzzzz!...)

Well anyway, my English teacher who I was totally besotted with.... ( see? I really should say “ with whom I was totally besotted...” Doh! ) thought they were good and we did one every week. That’s what got me hooked on making stuff up for others to laugh at.

By the way, I really love English, but the way it was taught was SO so boring!
